Jay Thompson

Sea Kayak Leader - Sea kayak Coach - working towards his ASKLA.

Mountain Leader.

Rock Climbing Instructor.

Jay is a sea kayaker from the Isle of Man, he is as enthusiastic about working with people as he is climbing, mountaineering or kayaking.

His day job is working for the NHS as a Psychological Therapist and Mental Health Nurse, he also regularly runs workshops and training for both adult and youth teams to raise awareness and delivers Mental Health First aid Training,

Jay initially visited the West Coast of Greenland with a month long youth expedition, like many of us he got the bug!.

Since then he has paddled and guided in many parts of the UK.

Jay works with George Shaw with many of his courses and expeditions on the Isle of Man and will be with me in Shetland in June.

Like many paddlers from the Isle of Man - he is quick with a PB of under 14hrs for the 115km IM solo circumnavigation.

It will be great to have him along with us on expedition in 2024.
