Jim Krawieki
Jim works at the offices of the British Mountaineering Council.
Apart from his interest in hill walking and mountaineering he is also a keen canoeist / kayaker and has paddled on many of the exciting white water rivers of England, Scotland and Wales, as well as many of those in the French Alps.
It was his passion for Sea Kayaking that drove him to write the first comprehensive guidebook to the Welsh coast, for Sea Kayakers.
The Book is called 'Welsh Sea Kayaking' and was published in September 2006 by Pesda Press. 'Welsh Sea Kayaking' has been co-written by photographer and keen sea kayaker Andy Biggs.
More recently he has finished another guidebook entitled 'Northern England & the Isle of Man', which follows a similar format to 'Welsh Sea Kayaking'.
Jim is also a keen filmmaker and photographer......too keen at times when he gets you to re-run that rapid or a rough bit of coast for the camera......
He has good local knowledge of the Ammassalik area of east Greenland, having led his own trip in 2007 and more recently assisted me with trips in 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2019.
Jim is a solid paddler with good leadership and group skills - equally at home on the water, up a hill or in the Bar !!
In short an asset to any team he is with and always welcome as a guide on any of my trips.
Note I didn't say anything about his sense of humour........you get used to it.....eventually!!!
